Maintain Your Slack Certification
OverviewTo maintain your Slack certification(s), you must successfully complete the maintenance module specific to your credential. Slack certifications are valid for 24 months from the date you passed the exam. After 12 months, you will be required to complete one maintenance module per year to maintain certification status. View the table below to see your scheduled maintenance cycle. It is your responsibility to keep track of the status of your certifications, and to complete any maintenance prior to your expiration date.
If you do not complete your maintenance module(s) by the deadline, all certification(s) maintained by that module will expire.

Check Your Status
You can view the status of your certification from your Slack Certified profile or by clicking on the corresponding credential page (e.g., Slack Certified Admin or Slack Certified Developer). Here's what the different statuses mean:
-
- Active: Your certification is up-to-date, and you have no maintenance due at this time.
- Maintenance Due: Your certification has maintenance due. Complete the maintenance module associated with your certification.
- Expiring Soon: Your certification has maintenance due very soon and is at risk of expiring. Make sure to complete the maintenance module prior to your credential's expiration date.
- Expired: Your certification expired because your maintenance wasn’t completed on time.
Maintain Your Credential
Once you are within 12 months of your certification's expiration date, the status will change from 'Active' to 'Maintain.' When this occurs, the corresponding maintenance module will appear below the prep course and exam tiles contained within the credential page. Simply click into the maintenance module, review the workshop, and pass the 10-question quiz at the end to complete your maintenance. After successfully passing the maintenance quiz, your certification expiration date will be extended by an additional 12 months and your status will change back to 'Active.'
Retaking the Maintenance Quiz
Didn't pass on the first try? That's okay! The goal of the maintenance module is to learn, and you can take the workshop and quiz as many times as you need, so long as you complete and pass the quiz before your certification expires.
