- Badges promote specific skills, and they’re easier to earn and share quickly.
- A certificate represents an achievement based on more rigorous expertise, experience and knowledge at a professional level. You earn one by passing a formal certification exam.
+ How do I earn a badge?
Most badges are earned by taking an online, self-paced course and then by passing a ten-question multiple choice or multiple select quiz.
+ How do I take a course?
- Go to slackcertified.com and select Slack Skills, then choose the course you want to enroll in.
- The courses are all online, self-paced and interactive. You can leave and resume them at any time.

You do need a Slack workspace to enroll in Slack Certified, including our badges. But if you don't have a workspace, you can always create a free team on Slack and use that to enroll in Slack Certified!
+ How many times can I re-attempt the quiz?
You can re-attempt the quiz as many times as you need to earn the badge.
+ Are there costs associated with earning badges?
Unlike certifications, Slack Skills badges are offered at no additional cost.
+ Why should I share my badge?
Sharing a badge on social media, or linking to it from your email signature or profile, lets you promote your skills to your co-workers, clients and prospective employers.
+ What happens to my badge if I leave/switch jobs or companies?
Badges will always be accessible and will stay on your Accredible profile. Update your email address on your Accredible profile at any time to take your credentials wherever you go.
+ What does Verify mean?
Accredible, Slack’s badging vendor, lets you share your achievements through a verified blockchain, making them a portable and personal record of achievement. The system validates that your badge is up-to-date and that the account belongs to the individual that earned the badge.
