Visa, Mastercard, and American Express debit and credit cards are all accepted. For bulk purchases of $10,000 or more, please contact your Slack Account Executive or Customer Success Manager.
Can I purchase in bulk or on behalf of someone else?
Yes! Follow the steps below to purchase a prep course, exam or bundle for someone else.
- Create a Slack Certified account
- Select the program tile either Admin, Consultant or Developer
- Select the prep course, exam or bundle option and click the purchase button
- From the purchase page, use the quantity dropdown to select the number of courses, exams or bundles you wish to purchase
- Proceed to checkout and complete your purchase
- You will be redirected to the Bulk Purchase Page that will provide you with a link that you can share
NOTE: Once you navigate away from the Share It screen after completing your purchase, you will no longer be able to generate the Share It link. Make sure to copy and save this link!
Preparing for your certification
What if I require special accommodation?
Prep Course accommodations: For individuals that are visually impaired, our prep courses work with the latest versions of NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and TalkBack in our supported browsers. Please review the accessibility information guide here.
Exam accommodations: Our exam delivery partner, Examity, is ADA compliant and can accommodate candidates that require screen readers, extra time, or other accommodations. If you have a disability, health condition and/or other barrier and may benefit from testing-related accommodations, please contact us and provide the following information:
- Description of the accommodation you are requesting
- Name of the exam
- Date and time of your scheduled exam (please schedule your exam at least three weeks in advance when requesting accommodations).
Note: All accommodations are provided on a case-by-case basis. Depending on the type of accommodation, we may request additional information and/or documentation to support your accommodation request.
How can I prepare for my exams?
We recommend completing the prep course as the best way to prepare for the corresponding certification exams. We also recommend candidates review the exam overview section, located on each exam page to gain a detailed understanding of the topics that will be assessed during the exam.
How long does it take to study for the exams?
The amount of time it takes to prepare for the exams will vary based on your level of experience. We usually recommend that new or aspiring Slack admins, consultants or developers set aside anywhere from 15-25 hours to work through the content within the prep courses, including practice activities. If you’re already deeply experienced, feel free to customize your studying around the specific topics from the exam guide that you may be less familiar with.
Is there a practice test that I can take?
Currently, we don’t offer a standalone practice test, but we recommend that you take the prep course, which are filled with over 70 practice questions and knowledge checks designed to prepare you for the respective exams.
What score do I need to pass the exam?
- Slack Certified Admin Exam: You’ll need to achieve a score of 64% or higher to earn your certification.
- Slack Certified Consultant Exam: You’ll need to achieve a score of 66% or higher to earn your certification.
- Slack Certified Developer Exam: You’ll need to achieve a score of 66% or higher to earn your certification.
What happens if I don’t pass on the first attempt?
Ultimately, a non-passing score is just an indication that you’ve got a bit more to learn, and that’s exactly what our prep courses are designed for! We recommended reviewing the exam retake policy located on each exam page. Also, make sure to review the score report from your first exam attempt to guide and focus your studies on the sections you may have scored lower in.
How are the exams administered?
Slack has partnered with Examity, an online proctoring solution, to give you the flexibility to take exams remotely using webcam and desktop recording features. Examity offers a secure exam solution that prevents cheating while preserving the integrity of our exams. Please review the Slack Certified Participant Agreement for more information.
When should I schedule my exams?
Exam scheduling is subject to availability. We recommend that you schedule your exam at least one week before you plan to take the exam.
NOTE: For a seamless exam experience, make sure to schedule your exam at least 24 hours in advance to avoid the additional fee associated with on-demand testing. Exams may not be rescheduled less than 24 hours in advance.
How do I register for an exam?
You’ll be required to create a profile in Examity before you can register and schedule an exam. Click on the exam registration and policies guide here to learn more.
How do I create or complete my Examity profile?
Follow the instructions outlined in Section 2 of the exam registration and policies guide here.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel my exam?
Rescheduling or canceling your exam must occur at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time to avoid paying additional fees. Exams may not be rescheduled less than 24 hours in advance. If you need to reschedule, follow the instruction on our exam guide here. If you are unable to reschedule or cancel, contact the Examity support team at 855-EXAMITY (855-392-6489) or support@examity.com for assistance as soon as possible.
Can I use a tablet or other device to prepare and earn a credential?
Prep Course and Slack Skills badge-based courses
The prep courses can be accessed on tablets, smartphones and other devices.
Certification exams
Examity's online proctoring technology requires that you register and take the exam on a laptop or desktop computer. You will not be allowed to take the exam on a tablet or other devices. For more information on technical requirements, make sure to check your system readiness here.
How do I retake the exam?
If you did not pass the exam on the first attempt, a new tile for the Exam Retake will be loaded into your account. You must wait the required waiting period before scheduling your next Exam attempt.
What if I require testing accommodations?
Examity is ADA compliant and can accommodate candidates that require screen readers, extra time, or other accommodations.
If you have a disability, health condition, and/or other barrier and may benefit from testing-related accommodations, please contact us and provide the following information:
- Description of the accommodation you are requesting
- Name of the exam
- Date and time of your scheduled exam (please schedule your exam at least three weeks in advance when requesting accommodations)

How much time does it take to complete an exam?
You will be provided up to 90 minutes to complete the exam. Once a pass or fail result is determined, you exam will end. If you require special accommodations, such as more time, please contact us and provide the information outlined above.
Where can I see my exam result?
Your exam results will be displayed to you on the final screen after you complete the exam. Make sure to either email or print your exam results before exiting your exam. All exams are provisional upon review by our online proctoring team to ensure compliance. Once a passing result has been validated, your credential details will be emailed to you within three to five business days.
Exam results are only provided as pass or fail. You won’t receive an overall exam percentage score when you complete an exam. To help determine your proficiency, you'll receive section-level feedback. For each section covered in the exam, you’ll receive percentage scores. The sections directly relate to the sections listed in the exam outline of the exam guide.
The section-level feedback is not designed to provide an overall exam score. Attempting to calculate your score using the section-level feedback will not provide you with an overall percentage score that determines if you passed or failed.
When will I get my official exam results?
All exam results are provisional upon review by our online proctoring team to ensure compliance. Once your results have been validated, your final score details and digital credential instructions will be emailed to you within three to five business days from slackcertified.com.
How do I add my credential to LinkedIn?

What if I did not receive an email with my certificate?
Sometimes due to company or computer firewall issues emails are blocked or sent to your email junk or spam folder. If this occurs, follow the steps below to resend your credentials to the email address associated with your Slack Certified account:
- Go to badges.slackcertified.com
- Click the Sign in link on the top right corner of the page
- Click Retrieve your credentials without a password
- Enter the email address that you use for your Slack Certified account
- You will receive an email from Accredible with direct links to all of your credentials
Can I take the exam again if I'm already certified?
You may recertify if you are within the recertification eligibility period, which starts 12 months prior to your certification expiration date. For most of our exams, this means 12 months after you first got certified. To check your certification expiration date, please do the following:
- Log in to slackcertified.com
- Select the profile image icon located in the top right corner
- Click the My Profile link
- Click the View Certificate located under the Status column and check the expiration date on the certificate
When will my certification expire?
To maintain your Slack certification(s), you must successfully complete the maintenance module specific to your credential. Slack certifications are valid for 24 months from the date you passed the exam. After 12 months, you will be required to complete one maintenance module per year to maintain certification status. It is your responsibility to keep track of the status of your certifications, and to complete any maintenance prior to the expiration date. Why isn't my credential appearing under 'Credential Status'?
The Credential Status section in your Slack Certified profile only displays certifications with associated maintenance programs. This means that currently only the Admin and Developer certifications are displayed in this section.
You can view information about other credentials including the Consultant certification as well as Slack Skills badges from the 'Registrations' section of your profile. Earned credentials can also be viewed from the Slack Certified Directory as well as your Accredible digital wallet.
